11th Annual Black Diaspora Film Festival in Durham, NC.

This year's theme is "Saluting Black Icons In Film",

the festival runs from Thurs., Feb 10~ Sun., Feb.13

Celebrating black playwrights

This month, four companies have united for a common goal: to encourage patrons to see a range of work by African-American playwrights. For $40, theatergoers can see Dael Orlandersmith's "Yellowman" at PlayMakers Repertory Company, Suzan-Lori Parks' "Venus," a collaboration by Raleigh Ensemble Players and Shaw University Theatre, and Charles Randolph-Wright's "Blue" at Raleigh Little Theatre. "Blue" is a comedy; the other two are dramas. Buying tickets to the three individually could cost as much as $75.

Black History Month

 "A Century of Expression", which features and highlights music and fashion for the past century. 

The MC is Terry Tuff, BET Comic. The show is very entertaining and appropriate for all ages.
